Lights Camera Snap Snap

I think it's time I bought myself a new camera. I have had my beloved IXUS 800 IS for a good 5 years now and whilst I still love it, it's functions are limited to what's comparable on the market today and I will need either a more compact camera that can do more, or a slightly larger camera that can do A LOT more as I want to improve my photos and capture the moments as I intended to.

I am still undecided as to choose a larger SLR type or just a better compact. I would like to stick to CANON though as I am familiar with the functions - but of course I am open to getting a new make and model if it's better value for money.

If money was no object, I would get the limited edition Leica M7 Hermès http://uk.leica-camera.com/photography/special_editions/m7_hermes/

Each of these has a classic retro feel and has a home in a silk box, a Leica Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH wide-angle lens, a matching classic round lens hood, a Leicavit M rapid winder and an Hermès leather carrying strap in the matching colour of the body. The body of the rangefinder is covered in calfskin in either Hermès Orange or Etoupe. There are only 200 of these babies, 100 in the classic 01-100) in Hermès Orange and 101-200 in Etoupe. At a price tag of 14,000 USD - I can only dream.
